A deadly collision between two school buses occurred on Friday afternoon in the Town of Floyd, resulting in the death of one bus driver. The crash took place along Rickmeyer Road, with both buses belonging to the Holland Patent Central School District.
58-year-old Jean Marsden, from Holland Patent, was the driver who tragically lost her life at the scene. The other driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Five students were on board the two buses, and two of them were transported to Wynn Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are examining the possibility of whiteout conditions contributing to the crash, though the cause remains under investigation.
Authorities have closed Rickmeyer Road between Old Floyd Road and New Floyd Road during their investigation.
