Fatal Las Vegas pedestrian crash death of Raul Moran-Castillo – Obituary.
Raul Moran-Castillo, a 68-year-old Las Vegas resident, passed away over a month after being struck by a vehicle on October 27, 2024. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Decatur Boulevard, north of Twain Avenue, as Moran-Castillo was crossing outside a marked crosswalk.
The driver, identified as 60-year-old Janet Coleman, was operating a 2007 Honda Accord under the influence at the time of the crash. Coleman attempted to brake but ultimately collided with the pedestrian. She remained at the scene and was arrested on DUI charges.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that Moran-Castillo’s death falls beyond the state’s 30-day reporting limit and will not be classified as a 2024 traffic-related fatality. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
