Fatal I-40 crash death of Bailey Elise James – Obituary
Bailey Elise James, a 36-year-old woman from Mebane, North Carolina, tragically lost her life in a single-vehicle accident on February 25, 2025.
The crash occurred in the afternoon when James was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40, near the 330-mile marker, just east of I-95. Authorities report that her vehicle left the road to the left, entering the grass median. In an attempt to correct, James oversteered, causing her vehicle to veer off the interstate to the right. The car struck a ditch and then collided with a tree.
James succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The vehicle was unoccupied by anyone else.
