Fatal Topeka, Kansas single-vehicle crash death of Anthony Shell – Obituary
Anthony Shell, a 58-year-old resident of Lebanon, Ohio, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 just east of Topeka on Friday morning.
The crash was reported at 11:25 a.m. along the Kansas Turnpike, approximately three miles east of Topeka near the East Topeka service area. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Shell was driving a 2024 Kenworth semitrailer westbound on I-70 when the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right and collided with a bridge pillar.
Shell, who was the sole occupant of the semi, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It remains unclear whether Shell was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, as the patrol’s crash log did not provide this detail. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
