A 41-year-old Illinois man, Jeffrey Garrott, was fatally shot Saturday evening in southeast Wisconsin. The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of Villa Street, according to the Racine Police Department.
Officers nearby heard gunfire, and dispatch soon alerted them about a man down at the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Jeffrey Garrott suffering from a single gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
The investigation remains active, with no suspects identified at this time. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Racine Police Department.
