Fatal Rayong drowning death of Zhao Liang – Obituary
Zhao Liang, a 24-year-old Chinese tourist, tragically drowned on January 7, 2025, after being swept away by strong underwater currents while swimming near the Khao Laem Ya National Park in Rayong.
Zhao had been part of a tour group traveling from Koh Samet to explore five islands, including a visit to Bat Cave Island.
During a swim near the island, she was caught by powerful currents and went missing. After a search, her body was found drifting about two kilometers away from the location.
Authorities confirmed her death after being unable to revive her despite attempts to resuscitate her at the scene. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
