Fatal Markham shooting death of Nilakshi Raguthas – Obituary
Authorities have identified 20-year-old Nilakshi Raguthas as the victim of a deadly shooting that took place early Friday morning in Markham. York Regional Police responded to a residence on Solace Road around 6:30 a.m., where they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a trauma center, where Raguthas was pronounced dead.
A dog inside the home was also shot and did not survive. The male victim, a 26-year-old from Markham, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Investigators believe the attack was targeted and are searching for two suspects who fled the scene in a black, newer-model Acura TLX. Authorities urge anyone with information or security footage from the area to come forward.
