Fatal Marshall County semi-truck crash death of Richard James Wenger – Obituary
Richard James Wenger, a 69-year-old resident of Fairbank, lost his life in a tragic semi-truck crash in Marshall County on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Wenger was transporting agricultural equipment near the U.S. Highway 30/330 interchange when his truck veered off Highway 330. The vehicle crashed through a bridge guardrail and landed on Highway 30 below, where it caught fire.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m., leading to the closure of a section of Highway 30 for several hours. Wenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
