Fatal Sewickley Township car crash death of Dean B. Carlson – Obituary
Dean B. Carlson, a 71-year-old resident of North Huntingdon, was tragically killed in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Sewickley Township.
Carlson was driving north on Clay Pike Road in his Hyundai Accent when a Ford F-150, traveling south, crossed the center line and collided head-on with his vehicle near Orchard Drive.
The driver of the pickup, 53-year-old Jason L. Underwood of Herminie, was able to escape the vehicle before it burst into flames. Underwood sustained minor injuries and was taken to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment. The crash, which occurred at 4:15 p.m., was captured on nearby surveillance cameras.
Both vehicles were seized by authorities as part of the ongoing investigation. Underwood was interviewed by police once he had received medical care. Firefighters from Herminie and Circleville, along with Sewickley EMS, responded to the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
