Fatal Thompson pedestrian crash death of Vanessa M. Hopper – Obituary
Vanessa M. Hopper, 29, of Liberty, was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle in the early hours of Sunday, January 7, 2025, on Glen Wild Road near Pine Tree Road in the town of Thompson.
State police reported that Sadia K. Thomas, 31, of Woodridge, was driving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 northbound when she hit Hopper, who was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.
Following an investigation, Thomas was arrested and charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter and driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
She was arraigned and held on bail, with a court appearance scheduled for January 23. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
