Fatal Spokane police shooting death of Joshua Musselman – Obituary
Joshua Musselman, 29, was fatally shot by Spokane Police officers on December 29 after an incident at an apartment on West Cora Avenue near the Garland District. The Spokane County Medical Examiner confirmed that Musselman died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of gunfire coming from the apartment. Chief Kevin Hall stated that up to four officers fired their weapons during the confrontation. Despite attempts by officers and medics to save Musselman, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the Spokane Independent Investigative Response (SIIR) team conducts the investigation into the shooting.
