Fatal Gahanna Subway shooting death of Gary Frantz – Obituary

Gary Frantz, 71, was fatally shot at a Subway restaurant in Gahanna, Ohio, on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Frantz was waiting in line at the StoneRidge Plaza location on Morse and North Hamilton Roads when he was shot in the head. He was later confirmed dead at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old William Marshall of Westerville, was arrested shortly after the incident. Witnesses reported seeing Marshall leave the restaurant and sit on a curb, where he was found naked with his hands raised.

Marshall has been charged with premeditated aggravated murder. During his arraignment, he pleaded not guilty, and the court denied him bond. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive behind the shooting.
