Fatal I-77 hit-and-run crash death of Dennis Alsept – Obituary
Dennis Alsept, 78, of Bolivar, tragically passed away on October 31, 2024, from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash on I-77 in Tuscarawas County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Alsept’s SUV collided with a flatbed semi-trailer that had made an abrupt U-turn in front of him.
The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene, but after an extensive investigation involving multiple agencies, the truck and its driver, a 59-year-old man from the Cleveland area, were identified. The crash remains under investigation, and the case has been referred to the Tuscarawas County Prosecutor’s Office for potential criminal charges.
Alsept’s family expressed their deep grief over the loss, describing it as “terrible” and noting how the accident had taken away a beloved father and grandfather.
