Alexia Rosales, aged 22, was struck fatally by two vehicles and became trapped beneath one of them, resulting in injuries to five other children who were subsequently hospitalized. The incident took place around 4 p.m. on Thursday, coinciding with the pickup of children following a holiday event.
As reported by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department, a mother was in the process of collecting her children when she inadvertently accelerated, colliding with another vehicle and causing both cars to crash into a fence.
Sheriff Javier Salazar stated during a press conference on Thursday evening that he does not suspect any criminal activity contributed to the accident. The school will remain closed on Friday, and grief and trauma counselors will be available on campus for both families and staff, as indicated by a school representative.
