Sbusiso Lawrence, the man who confessed to killing his girlfriend in a viral social media video, was found dead on December 18, 2024, in Umzinto, South Africa.
On December 17, 2024, police responded to a report of a murder in the Malangeni area, where they discovered the body of a 25-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds and a broken knife next to her. Authorities believe the woman, who was Lawrence’s girlfriend, was killed during a domestic altercation.
Lawrence’s vehicle, found abandoned nearby with bloodstains, prompted a manhunt. The following morning, police discovered Lawrence’s body hanging from a tree, believed to be a suicide. The incident came a day after Lawrence posted a video confessing to the crime and explaining his actions, citing a breakup and financial motives as reasons for the murder.
